About Rheological Consulting Services

Rheological Consulting Services Pty Ltd (RCS) conducts rheological characterisation testwork and provides expertise and advice on the processing of particulate slurries in a range of operational environments. Particular areas of expertise are rheological characterization of non-Newtonian thickened mineral tailings and pastes, colloid and surface chemistry and the evaluation of material dewaterability.

RCS has conducted studies for numerous companies and consultant engineers worldwide in the minerals industry, evaluating and characterising both process and waste streams for increased process control, cost savings and environmental benefit.

RCS is based in the Particulate Fluids Processing Centre at The University of Melbourne. The principals of the company are Professor David Boger, Associate Professor Peter Scales and Dr Fiona Sofra.
